About privacy
What are cookies?
Browser state stored by websites and NetKarte's availability result.
Updated: October 9, 2026
A cookie lets a web server store a small piece of state in a browser and receive it again with later requests to the same site. It is widely used for login sessions, preferences, and shopping carts.
How NetKarte checks it
Check Cookie in NetKarte's Storage & privacy card. It reports browser-declared availability, which is separate from analytics consent or the contents of stored cookies.
NetKarte reads navigator.cookieEnabled to show whether the browser reports cookie support. It does not read a list of cookies or their contents. The netkarte_locale cookie stores only the language choice, not diagnostic data or an identifier.
How to read the result
“Available” means cookies generally work in the current browser configuration. It does not guarantee that every cookie or context is allowed; third-party, Secure, and SameSite rules still apply.
Common misconceptions
Cookie support alone does not mean danger or tracking. What is stored, where it is sent, and when it is deleted matter. Disabling all cookies may also break legitimate features such as login and language retention.
Why “Available” after rejecting analytics?
Site consent and browser cookie capability are different. NetKarte still uses cookies for language and the saved refusal choice. Available is neither analytics permission nor a count of stored cookies.
If preferences disappear, check automatic site-data deletion, private browsing, and per-site restrictions. Save your choice through the footer's privacy settings, then reload. Deleting all cookies can also remove other sites' login sessions. You do not need to allow every cookie for diagnostics.
